On June 29, a sunny, Sunday morning in Crow Agency, the annual Ultimate Warrior contest was held. The event consists of modern day warriors from tribes across the country running, canoing the Little Big Horn River and riding 3 different horses bareback for six miles wearing a breachcloth and moccasins.
The finish to the event was at the Edison Real Bird rodeo grounds and approximately 2000 spectators were on hand early in the morning to cheer home their warriors.
The winner of the event this year was Narcis Reevis from the Blackfeet tribe. Second place went to Wolfy Real Bird from the Crow Tribe. Real Bird led the race after the river and running portion.
Former Ultimate Warrior Champions Isaiah Good Luck(Crow) and Jamesy Real Bird(Crow) finished 3rd and 5th respectively.
The womens' Ultimate Lady Warrior event was held on Saturday. This event consists of three member teams with each member completing a leg of the run, canoe or horseback. The winning team this year was Pretty Eagle from the Crow Tribe.

The Ultimate Warrior Challenge is an endurance race, which consists of a foot, canoe, and a bareback relay horse race. There are two divisions, a male and a female, which are run on separate days. The Ultimate Warrior Challenge is the premiere event of the Crow Native Days. The first place prize money for each of the Mens and Lady Warrior event is $5,000.00. The Crow/Montana Tobacco Prevention Quit Line has added $3,000.00 to the Men's first place prize money, making it a total amount of $8,000.00. The dates for this years competition are June 26th and June 27th, 2010. Start times each day are at 8:00 AM, at the Edison Real Bird Memorial Complex (Grand Stands), Exit 510 of Interstate 90, in Crow Agency, Montana..... The Crow Native Days includes events, such as the Reenactment of the Battle of the Little Big Horn, arrow games, rodeo, & pow wow. The 2008 Lady Ulttimate Warriors Team Champions were "Pretty Eagle". Sorry, no photos available. The men's Champion was Narciss Reevis. The 2009 Lady Ultimate Warrior Team Champions were " Silver Bullets". The male Champion was Wolfy Real Bird. Start Time for both Male and Female Events is 8:00 AM.
